Far Rock Huskers
Stay On Winning Track
By Greg Carter

The Far Rock Huskers Lacrosse program is right on target regarding their Lacrosse development. We were getting beat up pretty bad three years ago, it seemed like we were the 1962 Mets.

I am truly happy to report to the Rockaway community that our Lacrosse kids are learning all of the necessary skills such as scooping, passing and catching. They are starting to become a lot more proficient. The Huskers defeated a combined team from Long Island, 14-6. The win was led by the remarkable goalkeeping work of Hernando Hoyos, who as Coach Kelly says, "He is our man".

On Saturday, the Huskers blew open their opponent, the Malverne Mariners, 21-9. Scoring came from everyone on the team. Coach Kelly said that they have the scorers, but the defense is what will make or break the team. The outstanding players on defense were Walter White, Jelani Montoute, Brandon Patterson, Adam Torres, and a host of other Huskers really contributed to our victory. Special thanks must be given to new coach Tony Reyes.
