It’s The Little Things

It's The Little Things

To the Editor:

I wanted to write a thank you note to Lew Simon for publication in the Wave.  Here is a copy of it, I hope you will print it.

Sometimes, it is hard to be heard, especially in a city the size of New York; at those times it is especially helpful to have someone like Lew Simon on your side.

I had applied for a Manhattan parking permit for disabled persons twice over the past nine months and been turned down both times.  Since having the parking permit meant that Manhattan would be accessible once again and medical appointments a lot easier to get to, I wasn't ready to give up yet.

I called our Democratic District Greeter, Lew Simon, and explained my situation to him.  Mr. Simon put me in touch with the manager of the parking permit for disabled persons program and made a couple calls on my behalf.

Being in touch with the right people made all the difference.  The manager of the program was very helpful and arranged to have my case reevaluated by the supervising physician.  My application was approved in less than a week.

Thank you Mr. Simon, for helping me get results quickly in a process that had already taken my wife and me almost nine months.
