St. Pat’s Parade Steps Off March 2

The 27th annual Rockaway St. Patrick’s Day Parade, now officially named the James Conway Sullivan Memorial Queens County St. Patrick’s Day Parade, will step off from Beach 129 Street and Newport Avenue on Saturday, March 2 at approximately 1 p.m.

The parade itself will follow a public mass at St. Francis de Sales church and a private breakfast at the Beach Club.

The parade has been renamed in honor of Rockaway Irish activist James Conway Sullivan, who many consider the "Father" of the Rockaway parade. Sullivan passed away last year.

The parade will follow Newport Avenue from Newport Avenue to Beach 116 Street, where it will turn onto Rockaway Beach Boulevard, past the reviewing stand at Beach 105 Street and then to the end of the parade at Beach 92 Street.

Parade president Mike Benn promises that this year’s parade will be one of the largest ever.
