Eating Disorder Seminar on February 20

St. John's Episcopal Hospital's Department of Pediatrics and Community Advisory Board, the Jewish Community Council of the Rockaway Peninsula and Mead Johnson Pharmaceuticals will present and sponsor and informative discussion on, "Eating Disorders In Children: A Challenge to the Jewish Community" on February 20, 2002, 8:15 p.m., at the Congregation Kneseth Israel, 728 Empire Avenue, Far Rockaway, NY.

Allan Steinberg M.D., Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at St. Johns will introduce the speakers. The following individuals will discuss eating disorders and how they affect the children and families in the Jewish community: Neville H. Golden, M.D., Director of the Eating Disorder Center at the Long Island Jewish Hospital: Rabbi Simcha Scholar, Executive Vice President of Chai Lifeline; Esther Altman, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist; and "Rebecca", a young woman who has personally survived an eating disorder. Moderator of the event is Deborah Lief-Dienstag, M.D.

There will be a question and answer session following the speakers presentations. Light refreshments will be served.
