CAT Team Wins Gotbaum's Support
Newly elected Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum told the Rockaway CAT Team that she planned to visit with the Rockaway community and see how her office could assist with local problems. Deputy Public Advocate Guillermo Linares said he hoped other communities would follow Rockaway's lead and develop community action teams in cooperation with their office.
Members of the Rockaway CAT Team will meet on Thursday, February 7 at 7 p.m. to plan for the coming year. They meet at the On Our Way Learning Center, 264 Beach 19th Street, Far Rockaway.
Norman Silverman, a founding member of the CAT Team, represented the group in the meeting with the Public Advocate. The group was founded by former Public Advocate Mark Green in 1994.
