Ministers Gather Together to Learn

Ministers Gather Together to Learn

A "Critical Incident Stress Management" Workshop was held on Saturday January 19, 2002, at Battalion Pentecostal Assembly. The Workshop was apparently put together to help teach ministers, and lay leaders of churches and "faith based organizations" how to assist their congregation in the wake of September 11th and in the face of new anxieties and national conflict.

Attendance was high, about 150 people, and the mood was enthusiastic. The teachers were mainly the staff of Lighthouse Inc. an organization run by Pastor Donald Ventura. The second phase of the training, with Pastor David Hartman form the NYC Office of Emergency Management, will take place on Saturday, February 16, 2002 at the Agape Church of God, 138-35 Springfield Blvd, Jamaica.

These workshops are sponsored by the Rockaway-Inwood Ministerial Coalition and the Eastern New York General Assembly of the Church of God.

The Ministerial Coalition meets monthly and all churches and religiously themed community organizations are welcome to join. Call 718-327-1114.
