Gallantry Remembered

Gallantry Remembered

Dear Editor;

Since I have lived in the same house in Neponsit for over 80 years, I remember many nice tales. One concerns the late Dr. Burton Salpeter.

On November 3, 1956, my mother was stricken at 1 a.m. in the morning with severe chest pains! I telephoned Dr. Salpeter, and in ten minutes he was at the front door. He stayed with my mother for one hour giving her tests, and trying to ease her pain.

The next day I received his bill. It was $5.00, complete. Thank you again, Dr. Burton Salpeter.
