Wave Forgot The Little People

Wave Forgot The Little People

Your article titled "We Mourn These Losses in 2001" on January 5th was a touching tribute to all those who passed away this past year.

One name you forgot to add was Richard W. Knott Sr., who was very active in the Rockaway Community throughout his 65 years of live.  He was the Grand Knight of the Rockaway Council #2672, Knights of Columbus twice, a member of the American Legion, a member of the BCAC Hall of Fame, an active member of the St. Camillus parish, a loving father, and a great friend.

In your article, you named a few baseball players, who had nothing to do with our community, but left out people like my father, who made Rockaway what it is today.  You named all of the celebrities who died, but forgot the "little people" of Rockaway.  These are the people who help the Rockaway business' stay in business.  You also left out some of the people who are Rockaway residents for the summer, that passed away in the WTC disaster. Next time, please do a little more research and broaden your scope, before publishing an article.
