A Message of Gratitude

A Message of Gratitude

Dear Editor:

In August of 2001, I started the first part of what I call my journey. I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Along the way, I am lucky to have met wonderful, caring, and compassionate individuals. Many thanks and love go to Dr. Celeste Miller, who took that extra step and saw me through four surgical procedures. The wonderful Hatie, medical assistant to Dr. Miller, who is like sunshine in a storm. She goes way beyond the call to duty. To a great staff in Peninsula Hospital: the special, wonderful nurses in the Ambulatory Surgical Unit; Kathy in the Operating Room for always being so sweet and sensitive; the kind, caring ladies in the admitting office for all the encouraging words; and, the lovely, and kind Patty in Mammography.

Dr. Miller is leaving our town and this will be a great loss for us. Not only is she a gifted surgeon, but a dedicated, sensitive, and spiritual woman. She is a treasure! I wish her the best!

There are lessons we learn in life, especially in times of adversity. I consider myself blessed to have met such incredible people. I would like to thank my family, especially my husband and son for their love and support. Also, my precious friends and the administration and staff at P.S. 225 – you made a rough time so much easier.

As I start the second part of my journey, I do so with a full heart. God bless you all!
