My Son, The Author

My Son, The Author

I am a Rockaway resident (35 years now), but I am writing from my winter home in Boca Raton, Fl, where I received Marc Berman's book, "Living Without EW," in the mail December 9.

Quite a Chanukah gift!  You see, Marc Berman, the author, is my son.
I am not a biased father, but the book deserves to be on the bestseller list ... in the Rockaways.  I could not put the book down (Marc would not let me) because it is honest, exciting, informative, profound, incisive, fair and penetrating. Very fast reading, if you are a very fast reader.

And here are my acknowledgements:  My father Joseph who taught Marc to dribble and took him to his first Knick game.  To my wife Claire who has a scrapbook of every sports article Marc has ever written; and that includes PS 114.  To my daughter Rhoda and son-in-law Eric, who have bought more of Marc's books from Amazon.Com than Albian Press has published.  So, it is definitely number one across the bridge in Marine Park.  Their children Jesse (11) and Austin (8), who read Marc's book twice, and Harry Potter & the Sorcerers Stone only once.  The paddleball players at 103 Shorefront, especially Steve, Shelly, Joan, Al, Gil and his best man Kenny.  They taught him to be a winner; and they are his biggest fans. And yours truly, who has been rooting for the Knicks since 1946 thanks to the founder, Ned Irish.   I introduced Marc to the Knicks in the 70's when Cedarhurst’s great Red Holtzman was the coach.  The rest is history, and hopefully living without Van Gundy will turn out well for the Knicks and for my son, the writer.
