Mure’s Little North Pole

Mure’s Little North Pole

Dear Editor;

Have you ever seen the Christmas show the Mure’s have each year,

You wouldn’t believe the characters that suddenly appear.

There’s Pokemon, Peekachu, Baby Bop, Taz, too,

Power Rangers, Tigger and even Winnie the Pooh.

For weeks the sound of setting up and hammering fill the air,

Young tykes walk by with their Mom’s and Dad’s and gaze in wondrous stare.

At last there’s the sound of the hammer as it hits the last nail,

And the long awaited invitation arrives in the mail.

We all take up the chant and begin the countdown from ten,

Suddenly the lights are ablaze, delighting both children and men.

Batman, Bugs Bunny and a merry-go-round,

Mickey Mouse, toy soldiers they make quite a sound.

Young singers dressed as soldiers and elves suddenly appear,

They sing out in harmony, in voices loud and clear.

"God Bless America" strong voices sing out,

Patriotism, love of country, there is no doubt.

Then familiar carols fill the air,

Not just a song, it is a prayer.

Characters mix among the kids who stare in awed delight,

Especially as Frosty comes into their sight.

Beverages and food are served for all,

There’s chatter and laughter awaiting the call.

The long-awaited moment arrives at last,

Santa has toys and they’re grabbed up fast.

As he leaves he says in a voice of might,

"Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!"
