On December 6, 2001, St. Camillus continued playing the Senior Girls Intramural Basketball Games. In Game 1, The New Irish Circle was sunk by O’ Grady’s Plumbing, 23-20. In an exciting 4th quarter, Sam Swenson scored 10 points. Allana Quinn and Angela Manzo contributed to the victory. O’s Grady Plumbing was led by the efforts of Kathryn Scherpf and Michelle Cashen, who collectively scored 10 points in the game.
The Knights of Columbus marched triumphantly over John Schilling, D.P.M. with a 37-20 victory. Morgan Shannon and Sue Hurley led in scoring for Columbus with both combining for 27 points. Kristy Forcina, Mary Carson and Katie Fitzgerald ably assisted them. Schilling’s Dana Hirsch, Tiffanie Carman and Kelly Carman gave it their all, but fell short.
On December 13, 2001, Game 1 was held which pitted the Knights of Columbus against New Irish Circle. The New Irish ran a few circles around the K of C and grabbed the win 33-29 in an exciting game. The Circle’s Marissa Weber-Bey, Lisa Vendlands, Kara Bobby, Hope Johnson and Michelle Cashen held Columbus’ Mary Carson, Morgan Shannon, Rita Regan and Kristy Forcina at bay throughout the game.
In game 2, O’ Grady’s Plumbing scored a big victory over John Schilling, D.P.M. with a 34-14 victory. Sam Swensen and Michelle Kenel led the charge with 27 points between them, Allana Quinn and Julienne Vicens performed well in both adding 7 points. Schilling’s Kelly Carman and Dana Hirsch played a good game in the losing effort.
