Thousands of lights grace the home of the Mure family of 327 Beach 145 Street in Neponsit. The yearly event at the Mure household was almost put on hold this year due to the crash of Flight 587, but it was decided to go ahead with the lighting show and to donate any proceeds to the Rockaway Children's Fund. This week, the D.E.F.Y. (Drug Education For Youth) program played host to a number of children from the Far Rockaway area, M.S. 53 in particular, during a Christmas party held at The Beach Club.
