Craft Sale To Benefit Charities

Craft Sale To Benefit Charities

The Studios of Pottery By Susan will open its doors Saturday December 9, and again on Saturday December 15 at 11 a.m., for its annual holiday craft bonanza. Proceeds from this holiday sale will benefit the Chamber of Commerce Memorial Fund.

"I intend to donate at least ten percent of my sales to the Chamber of Commerce Memorial Fund. I have supported the fund with a portion of my sales since the 9/11 disaster and will continue to do so," states Susan Locke, owner of Pottery By Susan.

Pottery, stained glass, jewelry and weaving created by local craft artists will be sold. In addition, t-shirt sales will benefit the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department and book sales will benefit the Rockaway Museum. The 2002 Rockaway Artists Alliance calendar, featuring the work of Rockaway’s major artists will be on sale and a portion of each sale will also be donated to the Chamber’s Memorial Fund.

The craft sale is an annual event and a major shopping destination for many Rockaway residents. Everything is one of a kind, unique and will not be found in any other location. "When you buy a gift at our studio, not only will you will make that special person happy, but your purchase will benefit our whole community," says Susan.

Pottery by Susan is located in The Wave building, 88-08 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, 3rd floor. Ring bell #7. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday December 8 and 15.
