Columbus 12, Beach Channel 7

At Far Rockaway Field, Columbus (7-2) scored 2 touchdowns to take a quick lead and held on to beat BC (5-4). Columbus traveled from the Bronx to Far Rockaway Field and Columbus struck first. After a scoreless first quarter, Columbus scored the first touchdown. RB Dontae Ransom scored on a 29-yard td run for Columbus and Ransom on the day ran for 132 yards on 19 carries.

The Blue Steel of Columbus quickly struck again in the 2nd quarter as they drove down the field as RB Leonard Warren scored on a 2-yard touchdown. By the end of the second quarter, BC was down 12-0. The Dolphins scored a touchdown in the 4th quarter to cut the deficit to 12-7 but they could not come back. Columbus will move on in the playoffs to face Lehman on Saturday. Beach Channel finishes their season at 5-4. Beach Channel played a tough game without some important players and played hard until the final gun. With a refurbished playing field ready for next football season, things are looking up for the Dolphins next year.

Susan Wagner 44, Far Rockaway 8

Far Rockaway (7-2), was manhandled by Wagner (8-1), 44-8, as the Seahorses Cinderella Run to the championship was ended at Wagner home field. Far Rock was prepared to play as they showed it on the first drive of the game. The Seahorses went on a 10-play 80-yard drive that took up 11 minutes of the first quarter. QB Aaron Pegues threw a 3 yard TD pass to WR Marlon Rodriguez to make it 6-0. A two-point conversion was good and Far Rock led 8-0.

Wagner, the defending PSAL champions quickly struck back with their explosive offense. The Falcons scored 14 points in the second quarter and took control of the game. Wagner QB Kasey Nunez was outstanding as he threw 13 for 16 for 254 yards and 3 touchdowns. RB Timmie Kelson had 187 yard on 21 carries and scored 3 touchdowns. It was 28-8 at the middle of the third quarter and the game was essentially over. Far Rock finishes their season at 7-2 but they accomplished a great feat in entering the playoffs for the first time in 4 years. Far Rock had recruited their most players to the team in years and played outstanding at home.
