The Broad Channel Senior Boys suffered another hard fought loss at the hands of the talented Roosevelt team 26 to 6 on Sunday, October 21. The Shamrock offense was slowed down due to an injury to the star running back Eddie Walls (lower back) and Anthony Pagano with flu like symptoms. Playing at linebacker, Dennis McMahon had 8 solo tackles and a fumble recovery coming up huge for the Shamrock defense. Andy Minami once again showed leadership and poise at the quarterback position. On 3rd and 4th down and long on passing situations, he used his football smarts and experience. With no receivers open, he tucked the ball way and ran for 1st down both times and ended up with 58 yards rushing. He also passed for over 100 yards and threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to his favorite receiver Patty Cavanaugh.

Anthony Pagano had 40 yards receiving. Steve Mangone ran the ball heroically, gaining 12 and 16 yard runs on broken plays out of the backfield. James Marshall had a 60-yard kickoff return and once again came up huge on defense. Although slowed by an elbow injury, Brian Madden played both offensive and defensive lines and made a number of bone-crushing tackles on defense. Rob Consolo, Gerard Daly and Andrew Spadaro played intimidating defense at the linebacker positions.

On Saturday, October 27th, the Broad Channel Senior Boys suffered their first shutout of the season to the highly talented Levittown team 24 to 0. Key injuries to the offensive line have slowed the high-powered passing game of the Shamrock offense. Anthony Pagano had 68 yards receiving and 44 yards rushing, accumulating over 100 yards of offense against a tough Levittown defense. Andy Minami threw for 93 yards and missed the 100-yard mark for the first time in 6 games. Andy also came up big on defense with 3 solo tackles and a fumble recovery. Dennis McMahon got involved in pounding the Levittown offense. He had a fumble recovery for the second game in a row.

The defensive leaders of the Shamrocks, Anthony Pagano (7 tackles and 1 sack for a ten yard loss on 3rd down) and Rob Consolo (6 solo tackles) received a lot of help from the rest of the hard-hitting Shamrock defense. Brian Zwolinski had 7 bone crushing tackles. Dennis Loof broke the backs of the offensive lineman with his hard hitting and 5 solo tackles. Steve Mangone had a number of devastating tackles to help pound the Levittown offense to go along with a 50-yard punt that backed Levittown up deep into their own territory late in the 3rd quarter. James Marshall dazzled the crowd once again with his lightening speed darting across the field and hunting down Levittown running backs before they could break away from big yards.

Mark Aragona and Dave Beirne came up big for B.C. on the offensive line. They blew the defensive line away to create time for the quarterback to pass and the running backs to gain yards. Head coach Mickey McMahon and assistant coaches Freddy Ciapetta, Andy Minami and Jesse, appreciate the hustle and dedication they are receiving from the players and their parents.
