Reality Bites

Reality Bites

Dear Editor;

After the Technodome debacle I thought the residents of this peninsula would realize that the incumbent politicos have no clue what is good for Rockaway.

It is time for Rockaway to stop pretending that those who we put in office truly speak for us. After many years of political "concern" our locale has changed from a thriving beach resort with people making money on almost every corner to acres of unused beachfront property virtually all of which is lying fallow for decades!

When did the voters of Rockaway become children incapable of deciding what we want? When did the impotent politicians become parents who know what is best for us?

Get your heads out of the sand and look around the world. We are just about the only waterfront community who does not make millions from its beach. It’s pathetic!

I for one am tired of the same old rhetoric. Politicians do not care about Rockaway – they care about keeping the Party in power. Election Day is near. Do you want a change, Rockaway? Then you know what to do.

Maybe we can’t do anything about Speaker (Casinos Upstate) Silver but we can send a message to his minions.

Just an old seabirds eye view. Buy American.
