Far Rockaway 36 - Flushing 0

On homecoming day at Far Rockaway field before a lively crowd of 500 people, The Rock continued their unbeaten ways with a win over Flushing (0-6). Far Rock started off the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown run by Aaron Pegues. On a punt return, Marlon Rodriguez electrified the crowd with the first of two punt return touchdowns for the Seahorses. He returned a 55-yard punt return and later in the game, Marlon Toney scored on a 30-yard return. The Dolphins dominated in the ground game with Rashid Peterson and Marlon Rodriguez both running over 100 yards.

The Far Rock D was just as dominating as they shut down Flushing. Defensive Tackle Eric Davis led the charge as he recorded 10 tackles along with 2 sacks. Teammate Michael Toney also recorded 2 sacks and Marquis Whitmore also recorded 2 sacks. The Seahorses will travel to Flushing Field to play Bryant High School on Friday, October 26th.

Beach Channel 45 - Long Island City 14

After last week’s loss against August Martin, the Dolphins came back with a vengeance as they drubbed LIC to improve their record to 6-1. RB Paul Washington ran for over 100 yards but he dislocated his shoulder in the second half and will be out for the regular season. RB Ricky Richardson returned to the BC lineup after an ankle injury and rushed for 155 yards. LIC was never in the ballgame as BC ran out to a 38-7 halftime lead. The BC defense held LIC Bulldogs’ leading rusher, Richard Akowuah to only 60 yards. The defense was led by Jesse Velazquez’ 8 tackles and 3 for losses and Jason Mckoy had 6 tackles and 2 for losses.

Beach Channel is in first place in the PSAL standings, which computes their standings by the use of power points. Beach Channel will play Saturday, October 27 at Bayside.
