Candidates To Address Rockaway Issues October 29

Candidates To Address Rockaway Issues October 29

The four candidates for city council in the 32nd Councilmanic District will meet with Rockaway residents and address community issues at a Political Forum to be held at Beach Channel High School at 8 p.m. on Monday, October 29.

The forum, sponsored jointly by The Wave and the League of Woman Voter’s, will host Democratic Candidate Joseph Addabbo, Republican candidate Joann Ariola, Independence Party candidate John Baxter and Green Party candidate Robert Curran.

This is the first political forum held in Rockaway to address all four of the candidates and it may well be the last chance for Rockaway residents to question the candidates prior to the November 6 election.

A panel, made up of representatives of each of the four candidates will ask the initial questions of the candidates. In addition, the panel will include a representative of The Wave and one from the Rockaway Chamber of Commerce. A representative of the League of Women Voter’s will moderate the panel and the questions from the audience.

"We really want every Rockaway voter to come to the forum and see for themselves what the candidates are all about," says Wave Managing Editor, Howard Schwach. "This is the only Rockaway appearance where all four candidates can be questioned by voters, and that makes it an important evening."
