Locked Out Of A Political Debate

John Baxter (left) and Robert Curran (right), Candidates for the city council seat in the 32nd Councilmanic District, make their point at being locked out of a political debate hosted by the Rockaway Beach Civic Association last week. The two "minor party" candidates were not invited to debate, while Joe Addabbo (Democrat) and Joann Ariola (Republican) spoke on the issues at the American Legion Hall last Tuesday. The two are surrounded by their supporters, who picketed the event. At one point, an official of the sponsoring organization threatened to have the two candidates arrested for speaking out about their exclusion.John Baxter (left) and Robert Curran (right), Candidates for the city council seat in the 32nd Councilmanic District, make their point at being locked out of a political debate hosted by the Rockaway Beach Civic Association last week.
