HS Teams Continue Winning Ways

The Seahorses of Far Rock (4-0) continue to stay unbeaten this year after a 22-6 win over Erasmus (2-2). A close game throughout, the Seahorses’ running game was dominant once again to put away the Dutchmen. Far Rock RB Michael Toney ran for 140 yards and RB Rashid Peterson ran for 100 yards and scored a TD. WR Marlon Rodriguez caught a 50-yard TD pass from QB Aaron Pegues in the 4th quarter to seal the game.

On Defense, DT Eric Davis was a defensive star with 10 tackles to go along a sack to lead the D. Far Rock will try to keep their streak when they travel to also unbeaten George Washington on Sunday, October 14th.

Beach Channel 11

Columbus 0

In a tight defensive struggle, the Dolphins of Beach Channel (4-0) squeaked by Columbus (3-1). RB Paul Washington scored the only touchdown of the game in the first quarter. Washington scored on a 3 yard Td run and scored the 2 point conversion on a 45 yard run after three consecutive 15 yard penalties was committed by the Dolphins. With 11 seconds in the first half, Allan Trujillo kicked a 35-yard field goal to finish the scoring.

On defense, The Dolphins held Columbus to 105 total yards and stifled any offensive momentum that Columbus could muster. Benji Nieves had two interceptions and 9 tackles and Jesse Velazquez also had an interception. Beach Channel will travel to August Martin (1-3) on Sunday, October 14th.
