Broad Channel Bashing

Broad Channel Bashing

Dear Editor;

I am writing to you in reference to the article that appeared in the October 6 edition of your paper entitled "Pleads Guilty In Broad Channel Hate Attack."

By using the name of our town, Broad Channel, in that context, you are immediately suggesting to the reader that members of our community were involved in this vulgar situation. The fact of the matter is that the attack occurred at the Broad Channel train station involving people from outside of the community. Why not use, "Pleads Guilty in Subway Hate Attack?"

It seems to me that your paper tries to exploit the town whenever possible, and I for one am tired of your attempts to portray the town in a negative light.

CHRISTINE COSTA
