A Beacon of Hope

A Beacon of Hope

Dear Editor:

I write to you in response to a letter that appeared in your newspaper dated September 15, 2001, entitled "BCHS Records Mystery."

In light of the recent tragedy that shook the world on September 11, 2001, this meanspirited article is truly insignificant and largely untrue. I acknowledge that the request for a transcript this summer was not handled according to our procedures; that is regrettable. That’s where the truth ends. We have, in fact, located the record in question. Our high school has made great strides in the last four years. We are a proud community. I only ask that members of our community-at-large read between the lines. We will continue to do our part to improve education for all. We strive to serve as a beacon of hope, not a target for misguided expression.
