HS Football Teams Continue To Win Big

Beach Channel 41

Springfield Gardens 6

Ricky Richardson ran for 100 yards and scored two touchdowns for Beach Channel as they improved their record to 2-0 with a blowout win over Springfield Gardens. BC’s Ben Nieves scored two touchdowns on 2 and 3-yard runs and Richardson scored on 9 and 35-yard runs. Kevin Jamison scored on a 2-yard runs and Rob Deutchman scored on a 25-yard interception return. Springfield Garden’s record now falls to 0-2. Beach Channel will play against Boys & Girls at home on Saturday, September 29th.

Far Rockaway 30

Truman 0

Far Rockaway improved to 2-0 in the season with a dominating 30-0 win over Truman. The defense was a big part of the game forcing three fumbles and two interceptions. Far Rock QB Aaron Pegues scored the first touchdown with 4:36 left in the first quarter to start the blowout. RB Michael Toney rushed for 110 yards to lead the offense and Rashid Peterson also rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown. Truman’s record now stands at 1-1. Far Rockaway will return home to play against Grand Street Campus/Legal Studies on Saturday, September 29th.
