Safeguarding Americans

Safeguarding Americans

Dear Editor;

Last week's attack lead to wonder about the nations vulnerability and our national security policies and whether we as nation have the capability to safeguard American lives both domestic and international. This tragedy on American soil and other similar attacks in the past of Americans on foreign soil should be a rude awaking as to our government's capabilities to safeguard American lives at home and aboard. The question now is what should the Congress priorities be in resolving this critical matters threatening our borders? And, how do we effectively response without further jeopardizing American lives? The quick and easy response is for Congress to provide the
President with exclusive powers to initiate an all out military attack,
utilizing the full strength of our armed services (Army, Navy, Air Force) on the perpetrators including total annihilation of any resistance. This type of warfare response can and would directly implicate our government involvement towards future retaliation response from these religious psychotics thus further jeopardize Americans lives aboard and domestic.
There are however, precautionary safety means that could be utilized to
resolve these matters without jeopardizing or compromising Americans safety.
The humane and non-barbaric American response should be to release our ground forces (Army, Marines) along with NATO forces to scourge the terrain of Afghanistan until we secure their operations and if fired upon, immediately respond. In itself will establish with the people of
Afghanistan that we are not the western world evils as they perceive us to be, and that our sole mission on their soil is committed to peace and
justice. And that this type of colonized revolutionary warfare on our soil will not be condoned or tolerated against Americans citizens, or release our covert agency (CIA.) to a full scale search to eliminate. Either method of response could have little or no retaliatory trails for it would be
difficult to establish 'the who is' responsible. However, if we should
attempt to pursue this matter any other way with unreasonable, unrighteous and unrelenting people we may further jeopardize our national security or compromise the safety of Americans aboard.
