Copper Angels

Copper Angels

Dear Editor;

My deepest sympathy to anyone who has been injured or lost a loved one during the horrific attack on the World Trade Center. I know words won’t bring them back, but they will live forever in our hearts.

Here’s something I read that always brings a smile to my face whenever I feel down and lonely. It works every time.

Ever heard of a saying, "Pennies from heaven?" Well, every time you find a penny on the sidewalk, or anywhere for that matter, you should expect that it is your loved one saying, "I’m thinking of you too." Then give a smile up toward the sky and say, "I’m thinking of you too."

After a while, the tears will go away, and from that point on, every time you see a penny, it’s just someone in heaven that you love thinking of you, even though you may not be thinking of them at that moment.

Just be strong, and after doing this a few times things will get easier. Soon, you will be doing what my 10- year old son does. Whenever he sees a penny, he rushes to get it, so his grandfather knows he’s still thinking of him too.
