Learning A Lesson

Learning A Lesson

Dear Editor:

The current conference on racism, which ended in Durham, Africa, was in actuality a racist conference. It set the tone with it’s two first speakers, Yasser Arafat and Fidel Castro, bellowing forth their esoteric rhetoric against Israel. The two faced Secretary General Koffi Annan, was compliant in his sentiment toward these extremists. The United States, after listening to a diatribe of divisiveness and acrimony, justifiably decided to walk out, this was a great decision by Bush and Colin Powell. When a suicide bomber kills innocent civilians, men, women and children, the third world nations, Arabs and European countries sit on their hands. But when Israel retaliates militarily, they are immediately accused of aggression. The bombers are told by their terrorist leaders that they will enter paradise. Actually they will enter Hades and be greeted by Mephostopheles.

The Jews have survived slavery in Ancient Egypt. They have overcome persecution by Persia (now Iran). They have survived the destruction of two temples and the Spanish Inquisition. Hopefully, they will over come the current volatility of the intifada.
