For many years, racial hatred, economic and political status, and religious bigotry have ripped the fabric of this country. On Tuesday, September 11, 2001, a wake up call was issued to the nation. As remnants of the World Trade Center buildings crashed to the ground, so did the barriers that have separated us for centuries. Pain and suffering has no race. A man or woman, straight or gay, has no economic or political status when they lay dying amongst a pile of bricks and mangled corpses.
