From The Artists Studio by Susan Hartenstein
"Deathtrap" is the jump-out-of-your-seat, laugh-out-loud thriller now being presented at the Post Theater at Fort Tilden through September 22. This latest production of the Rockaway Theatre Company is a brilliantly constructed, exciting and literate play by Ira Levin. A clever thriller to hold your constant attention, it is also brimming with intelligent humor. Talented Director Martin Kornberg has led his five skilled actors in a delicate and spine-tingling dance that will remain permanently in your memory. The sets for RTC productions have become as applauded as the plays themselves, and the "Deathtrap" set is no exception. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee on September 16. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and children. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Don

On The Beach… With Beverly Baxter
My thoughts, my heart, and my prayers go out to those in our community who may have had loved ones who perished in the attack on the World Trade Center Towers. It is understood that many firefighters who reside in Rockaway were called to duty and may also be among the missing.    As I was all prepared to sit down and type my column, the topic this week would have been about the results of the primary race; however, that, and almost everything else, seems so trite and trivial. Now, I can only merely scramble for words to describe the indescribable.

Hello everybody. I want to take a moment to extend my deepest sympathy to the people of New York and all those who may have lost loved ones as result of the hideous terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. The Inner Voice
Often, our emotions throw off our energy to such an extent that we feel we cannot function normally. Emotions are powerful reactions to something in the outside environment that has triggered our response. If we are alone, our own personal thoughts may take us into all the what-ifs, and we can create unbelievable possibilities. If we cannot wait for the future to unfold, we can remain paralyzed in fear, for example.
