It Is Too Bad

It Is Too Bad

Dear Editor;

I would like to comment about the candidates running for the city council 32nd district. How can this community ignore what Lew Simon has done over the past years? Yes, he likes to talk bad sometimes and goes overboard. But what have the other people running in the race done for us? Joe Addabo Jr. – Rallied against better transportation in the Rockaways, and cut a deal so that he could get a new station in Howard Beach by being the community liaison for the Port Authority – Do you think he has our community in mind? No – This is Al Stabile revisited. Chris Jorge? When has she led a rally to get a traffic light or stop sign installed? Where was she when two four-year-old girls were taken from our community? Lew Simon was there to help us rally to get the stoplight. He pressured and annoyed transportation commissioner Christopher Lynn until he said he heard enough of Lew! Lew Simon has been pressuring IS 180 to be a magnet school for years. All of a sudden Chris Jorge is taking credit.

And who’s a liar? Didn’t Chris Jorge put down that she was being endorsed by Peter Vallone, when Vallone hasn’t endorsed anybody in our race? Thus delaying Municipal Union DC 37’s endorsement in our district. It is too bad, because we have a chance to have a councilman from the Rockaways.

Rockaway citizens should all band together around our own man of results and record, Lew Simon.

SCOTT WINIK
