By Howard Schwach

New York City Police detectives have moved quickly to arrest two shooters, one who killed a 23-year-old man on August 7 and the other who shot a passer-by in the butt on August 17.

The suspect in the August 7 murder of 23-year-old Bobby Thorpe was arrested in Florida on Wednesday.

According to police sources, Isaiah Forbes, of Beach 56 Place was tracked to Florida by detectives of the 101 Precinct Squad.

Forbes allegedly shot Thorpe once in front of 156 Beach 59 Street.

According to earlier reports, Thorpe, who was visiting the Ocean Village complex, got into an argument with four youths who live nearby. The youths reportedly chased Thorpe and he was shot by one of those youths.

Bystanders, at the time, tied the murder to an ongoing dispute between young men who live in Edgemere and those who live in Ocean Village.

Thorpe died of his wound at the Peninsula Hospital Center later than evening.

In the later shooting, Dennis Parker, 24, of Beach 58 Street was arrested by police and charged with the shooting of a 25-year-old man on Beach Channel Drive and Beach 59 Street on the evening of August 17. According to police reports, the man reported hearing a shot and then feeling a searing pain in his buttocks. He did not know at first that he had been shot.

The unidentified victim was taken to the Peninsula Hospital Center, where he was treated for his wound and released, according to police.

Parker was charged with second degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
