The idea of putting an impound lot in the only place that takes in any money for the park service is beyond belief. Fort Tilden already has a perfect area for car storage, the old Nike missile site & maintenance yard. This area is secluded, out of sight and is not being used for anything but a dumping ground for the park service's old equipment. If the park service really need money that bad let them use a place that is out of sight of the public that the park service is suppose be serving. Also it is a little hard to believe that there is no place in NYC to store these cars but on Federal Park property. Without the pressure the Rockaway resident's bring on the park service Gateway will become the new landfill for NYC. The city wants to dump toxic sludge into Jamaica Bay and now dump cars at Riis? Where will it end?
