Epicurean Delight

Dear Editor,

The other night my girlfriend and I had the pleasurable experience of eating at Patrick’s, the Caribbean restaurant in Rockaway. Upon entering the restaurant, we noticed the home-like décor.

We were quickly seated and served our drinks while we read the menu. We decided upon primarily Caribbean dishes (although we may have chosen Italian or French) and were treated to an epicurean delight of coconut shrimp, codfish fritter with a tasty mango sauce, mussels soaked in coconut sauce, plantains and collard greens.

The food was delicious, and we were able to talk with Patrick, the owner and chef, who told us many interesting tales about how he got his start in cooking and the many places and recipes with which he’s been involved.

I highly recommend that people in the Rockaway community dine here. They not only would be supporting a local business, but will be able to enjoy a great meal.
