Roxbury’s Mayor, Tom Cook proposed to his girlfriend. Heather Hurley on Friday, June 22, 2001. Heather is the daughter of Rita Hurley of Roxbury and Tom is the son of Walter and Pat Cook also of Roxbury. A September 2002 wedding is being planned.
A great card for St. Genevieve’s Church in Roxbury was held on Friday, July 13 in Father Hession Hall. There were many prizes for the lucky winners. Refreshments were served after all the prizes were given out.
A block party on Hillside Avenue was held with delicious food and refreshments on Saturday, July 14 in Roxbury. Christopher Verbenko celebrated his third birthday on July 11 with a lovely party on Saturday July 14 at Aunt Ann Marie and Uncle John Mullaly’s house in Roxbury.
Congratulations to Ann Marie and John Mullaly of Roxbury who celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary of August 7th on Saturday July 14th, 2001 at an Anniversary Surprise Party on the West End of the beach in Roxbury under a canopy. Charlie Weinsheimer was the official marriage counselor. Eugene Clifford was the best man. It was a very festive occasion with bridesmaids and the groom's attendants, refreshments
an anniversary cake and plenty of laughs.
Happy Birthday Julie Rycan on the celebration of her 85th birthday of July 14th, with a great party at her daughter Betty's house in Breezy Point. Julie's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were all there to enjoy the lovely party.
Digger Bosch (a.k.a. precious to his mom), returns to NY on Wednesday July 25. He has been working in California for the last two years but has decided to pursue a career in law. He received a scholarship to St. John's Law School and will start in August. Christine Bosch also returned from California on June 8th. She will be attending Hunter College in NY for her Masters Degree. Welcome home and good luck Digger and Christine. You were missed by your family and friends.
