Respect For Freedom

Respect For Freedom

Dear Editor,

I would like to take this time to tell you about myself, I have two children and a grandson. I am now living in a room. I applied for Section 8 and was found to be ineligible due to the fact I was convicted of selling a controlled substance in 1995-1996. I was sentenced to two-four years, but instead of going to jail I was sent to Lake View Shock Correctional Facility where I was taught that there is a better life out there for me instead of using or selling drugs. But most of all I learned to respect my freedom; I feel that everyone deserves a chance.

I have given them documentation to prove that I completed my after programs and I’m no longer on parole. I have given them a letter from my ex parole officer, current landlord, and associate that is an attendance office for Sarah Jay Hale High School. What more proof do I need? I received two letters which indicate the same thing, I have not received anything that says the documentation I gave them was not sufficient. I would very much appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction for some kind of assistance. My current landlord is selling the house and everyone must vacate soon. I have no place to go and my children and I need to be together. Hopefully, your readers may be able to inform me as to what I should do next. Thank you.
