Help For Parking Problems

Dear Editor;

Although you have written about it chapter and verse, the parking problem in Broad Channel still continues.  On West Street between E 6 Road and Noel Road, there are a couple of houses with cones in the street protecting a parking space that people think they have a right to.  It is no coincidence they live directly outside of the A train stop in Broad Channel and are apparently trying to discourage people from parking there and hopping on the train.

If any of your readers ever has this problem, it is easy to report it to the
Department of Sanitation.  Just go to www.nyc.gov/sanitation, it is the Dept of Sanitation website.  Go to the service request and look under miscellaneous.  It is listed under "Street Obstruction".
All you have to do is click on the borough, type in the street address and
the cross streets where the problem is and type in a basic story about what
the condition is.  You can leave your number or remain anonymous.  They will investigate within ten days.

You can also contact the Sanitation Action Center at 212-219-8090, Monday through Friday. The person will take all your information and will send someone to investigate the complaint.
