100th Precinct Strikes Again!

100th Precinct Strikes Again!

Dear Editor;

On Friday June 8, at approximately 1:39 a.m., one of Rockaway’s Finest was at work again.

We residents are all aware of the parking rules. But when you share a driveway and you have to move three cars to get your babysitter’s car out, you end up leaving that car on the street while moving the first three back in.

You then go upstairs to give your babysitter her keys to go home. About one and a half minutes have elapsed from the time you left the car on the street. Along comes an officer, with no idea of what is taking place, who feels this warrants slapping a $50 parking ticket on the babysitter’s car. When you attempt to explain the situation, the officer appears to have no understanding and continues to write the ticket.

Where is the courtesy, professionalism and respect that all people are entitled to from the officers in this district?

MARY BENSON
