Dot on Roxbury by Dotty Taphouse

Mattie Curley and her three-year- old great granddaughter Jenna celebrated their joint birthdays on June 17 at a lovely party given by Jenna’s parents Kelly and Rob Schmitt at her brand new house on Bedford Ave. in Rockaway Point.

Mattie is very proud of all her grandchildren’s graduations this June, Catherine Regan with honors from St. Johns University, Nicky Froehlick from West Hampton High School. He will be attending the University of Syracuse in the fall and Ken Mullane who graduated from Kingsburo High School and will be attending Delhi College.

The closing party of the Breezy Point Golden Age was held on Tuesday, June 12 in St. Thomas More’s hall in Rockaway Point. AnnMarie Grozinger was in charge of reservations and seating arrangements, Frannie Jamin catered the delicious dinner.

Geraldine Chapey Sr., and Geraldine Chapey and her husband Eugene Pasternak donated the beautiful cakes. Timothy Tubridy was the talented D.J. Josephine McMonagle was the hostess of entertainment and Joan Wilmarth with her helpers did a great job of decorating the hall and tables with beautiful plants that were won by a lucky person at each table.

President Renee Lacey called out the numbers for lucky winners of the plants. Another enjoyable evening to remember. Happy first birthday to Jessica Anne Geis and Christine Beehler.
