Dot on Roxbury by Dotty Taphouse

Walter J Cook II (Wally) and Mary Beth Cook are the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl named Caitlin Eilis Cook who entered our world on March 8, 2001. Caitlin was baptized June 3 in St. Genevieve’s Church in Roxbury by Father Jack Cullinane. The godparents were Maripat Hardardt and Keith Cook, who honored us by standing in for godfather Uncle Scott Collins because he lives in Seattle. Caitlin wore the same dress as her godmother did thirty-three years ago. (She was the eighth baby to wear that dress). The elated grandparents were Jeremiah and Kathleen Collins and Walter and Patricia Cook. Great grandmothers were Hedwig Kolodzjieski and Julia Scott who couldn’t attend because she lives in Connecticut. Wally Jr. is the very proud big brother.

The christening was held at the Roxbury Catholic Club and the delicious buffet was catered by Frank’s Deli of Maspeth. Patsy the Clown together with Buzz and Woody entertained the children. A great day was had by all!

My daughter Dorothy and her husband Ronnie Farrell had dinner at Tiberio DiMare at their new location on 155 Beach 116 Street. They reported that Chef Ramon Taveras and Rudy Taveras cooked a delicious meal. The restaurant is now larger and attractively decorated. The staff consisting of Tina Johnson, Anthony and Cecelia were very attentive throughout the dinner.

Birthday wishes to Chereane Maus on June 17 and a belated birthday to Dee Dillon June 9.

Love Ya!
