Peninsula Dart League: Catholic Club Sinner Boys

Peninsula Dart League: C.C. Sinner Boys By Chris Knott

After the tournament week, the Catholic Club teams looked to start off the second half with good showing, and most important, a win.

The Choir Boys traveled to the Tap & Grill to face the team that gave them a whooping earlier in the season.  Once again without Big Guy Bri, the Choir Boys knew they were going to miss his lovely 12% winning percentage.  Stray Dog started off the night with a huge win in single cricket, which was followed by consecutive wins from La-Redeemer and Cut Throat Cam.  Tommy Dice lost the final cricket game, even though he threw a great one. Stray Dog was teamed up with B-Mac in the first 501 game, and was "en fuego." B-Mac threw a good game and they pulled out the win.  Tommy Dice and Hill Billy Jim lost their 501 game.

In 401, B-Mac started off with a loss, but was followed with wins by Cut Throat Cam, and Hill Billy Jim. The final 401 game saw La-Redeemer lose a close one.  With the score at 7-5, the Choir Boys knew they had a chance to pull off the upset, so they threw the bomb squad in double cricket.  Stray Dog and La-Redeemer started off with a great game and the win.  That was followed by another great game and a win by Tommy Dice and Hill Billy Jim.  With the match already won, the Choir Boys wanted to get as many points as they could, so they threw Tommy Dice, Cut Throat, and B-Mac.  With Tommy and Cut Throat throwing well, the Choir Boys knew they had a good chance of winning 601, and they did.  The Choir Boys finally looked like a division 1 team, and got a little redemption by beating Tap & Grill by the score of 14-5.

The Sinners knowing that they would be short handed, had to think of a great game plan to try and beat the tough We Can't Add team from RBI's. Mikey "sweet 16", Right Said Fred, KJ Dribbles, and Dirty Harry Callahan were not able to make it, which left the Sinners with only 5 shooters.

Usually E Z E starts off the night in single cricket, but the game plan changed and had K-Diddy start off the night. He threw a great game, but could not hit corks to save his life, as he lost a close game. E Z E followed that loss with a win. T-Bone, who usually never plays cricket, was forced into game 3 as Dirty D was on his way down after working over time.  T-Bone threw a good game, but lost a heart breaker.  Big Poppa Stump closed out the single cricket games with a win.  While the last cricket game was going on, Dirty D AKA The Mush, showed up.

In 501, E Z E was teamed up with T-Bone.  They had a great battle on their hands, but did pull out the win. Next were Dirty D and Big Poppa Stump.  With Dirty D, who is not throwing well of late (actually, he is just horrible), the Sinners were hoping his skills were back.  With both of them struggling, they could not catch up, and lost their game.

The 401 games saw K-Diddy throw another great game, but only to lose because he could not double out. T-Bone won her 401 game, which was a close one.  Dirty D followed that win with a loss.  Big Poppa Stump ended the 401 games with a win.  With the score tied, the Sinners knew that they had to win 2 of the last 3 games to win the match.  E Z E and K-Diddy won their double cricket game. Big Poppa Stump and Dirty D played the second game, and Dirty still could not hit anything.

Stump's back was hurting him for carrying his large butt, and was about to pull out the little hair that he has left on his head. Dirty averaged less than one good dart out of every three.  I think Stevie Wonder could throw better darts than Dirty. With no help from his partner, Stump and Dirty lost their game.  Now, the score was 8-8, and whoever won 601 would win the match.  E Z E, K-Diddy and Dirty D threw for the Sinners.  They jumped out to an early lead, but let We Can't Add back in it.

Then the game came down to a double one, which K-Diddy finally hit to end the game and match.  The Sinners won 11-8 to keep their unbeaten streak alive.
