Disgusted With Candidates

Disgusted With Candidates

Dear Editor;

I am totally reviled and disenchanted to see most of the potential democratic nominees seeking the endorsement of Al Sharpton. I would not preface his name with Reverend because he is not worthy of it.

Here is a man who lied and perpetrated a hoax on this city with the Tawana Brawley fiasco. He changed his sartorial attire from a sweat suit

and medallion to a suit and tie. However, he did not change his soul or character. He is fast to take on a controversial situation and utilize it for self aggrandizement. He spews forth venom and vitriol, and he inflames bigotry, hate and prejudice. Let’s not forget his association with Khalid Mohammed, who ranted against whites, Jews and Catholics.

Sharpton has referred to Jews as "interlopers", and two of the candidates seeking his endorsement are Jewish. This merely shows me a lack of conviction. He is the black prince of demagoguery.

Whether you like or despise Mayor Giuliani, he has never granted Sharpton an interview or acknowledged his presence, and he should be commended for it. Giuliani is a man who has never compromised his convictions, and none of these political aspirants can shine his shoes. I cannot fathom Sharpton, or any of the other candidates, running this city. If given the opportunity, they will run it into the ground.
