Historical Views by Emil Lucev

Many thanks to Frances Cacciaboudo of Fort Lauderdale, Florida for today’s two historical souvenir photo postcard views.

Theses were sent to yours truly for publication in The Wave, and show a handsome young couple with beaming faces. Perhaps they are on their honeymoon at Rockaway in 1914. Their outward expressions and posture seems to say (to this historian) "Here we are world, a brand new Mr. and Mrs.". A wedding ring is seen on her left hand in the excursion boat prop photo. There was no information sent with the cards, and this heightens the mystery!

Who are they? Where are they from?

With the date of 1914 on the photo prop depicting an automobile, I ask if the lad went off to war in 1917. Did he survive or did the young girl become a widow? Were there any children?

Unless someone out there in waveland recognizes the young couple, I’ m afraid the questions will go unanswered. How about it?
