Failed Robbery Attempt at McDonald’s
The two women who saw Joan Coleman ordering food at the McDonald’s restaurant on Beach 92 Street last Saturday at 12:25 p.m. apparently thought that she looked like an easy mark and would be easy to rob. They were wrong.
Coleman was far from an easy mark. She is a Transit Police officer who was off duty and in civilian clothes at the time.
According to official police records, Linda Moore, 31, of Maryland and Lisa Hill, 23, of Jamaica, Queens, approached the off duty officer while she was ordering her lunch with the intention of robbing her.
Coleman pulled her weapon and one shot was discharged. Nobody was hit by the bullet. The two then fled towards Eastbound on Beach Channel Drive and a police search soon ensued.
Moore and Hill were stopped shortly thereafter based on Coleman’s description of the two. They were both arrested charged with Assault 2.
