Chaos Of Debt

Dear Editor;

It is a measure of the total bankruptcy and corruption of the Democratic Party of the states of New York and New Jersey that the impending theft of one of the people’s most valuable assets, the World Trade Center, brings not a single outcry, protest, or counter-action from Democratic leaders or would-be leaders.

On March 14, 2001, the Port Authority, packed with Pataki and Whitman appointed embezzlement artists, is arranging to lift the twin 110 story WTC from the people’s ownership and deposit it into the hands of private super-rich friends for $3.25 billion, a WTC that could not be built today for less than $20 billion. As is the case in every privatization of public assets, what has been paid for by all the people and what had been profiting all the people (the monthly WTC rents) will henceforth be profiting only the few ruling class recipients of the gift from our sold-out, conspiring, campaign contribution indebted, servile politicians.

Some protection against this kind of local embezzlement, some oversight, was structured at the federal level by Franklin D. Roosevelt. Unfortunately, those protections were successfully circumvented by the slick one who recently slithered out of the Oval Office (together with items of its furniture), and who recently arrived right here at the scene of the crime. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton have come to New York for precisely the reason that Willie Sutton went to the banks (this is where the money is), and they expect a piece of the action.
