Stranger In The Hall

Dear Editor;

I am a tenant in a co-op. Last weekend a strange man came ringing my doorbell soliciting for one of the local civic groups. When I told him I wasn’t interested and asked him to leave he insisted that he had to go to other apartments. I explained that he was not allowed to solicit in this building. He insisted he was not soliciting. I asked him how he gained access to the building. The buildings have locked front entrances to keep intruders out.

I felt very threatened by his presence in the hallway. Just because he claims to represent a civic association doesn’t give him the right to threaten a person’s sense of security.

Neighbors need to be more careful before ringing in strangers.

C.S.
