Celebrating The African-American Family

Tributes, Singing, Dancing & Speeches Set For Sunday

Reverend Al Sharpton will be the keynote speaker on Sunday, February 25 at a Far Rockaway celebration of Black History Month.

The Community Church of the Nazarene and Rockaway - Inwood Ministerial Coalition invites the public to join in "Celebrating The African-American Family." Along with the appearance by Sharpton, there will be performances by community choirs, soloists, drum groups, the MS 198 school band, and praise dancers. Local and state elected officials will be in attendance.

The event will take place at The Community Church of the Nazarene, 1414 Central Avenue, Far Rockaway. Doors open at 3 p.m. with the program starting promptly at 3:30 p.m.

Reverend Leslie Mullings and Reverend Samuel Reid will be the host pastors.
