St. Virgilius Playoff-Bound

The B.C.A.C / St. Virgilius girls 5th grade Novice basketball team completed their regular season with an outstanding record of 11 wins and 2 losses, awarding them first place in their respective division.

The girls, led by their coaches Beth Hanning and Debbie Lonnborg, will move onto the playoffs as they tip off this Saturday, February 3rd, 4:15 PM vs. Our Lady Blessed Sacrament at St. Andrews gym. The Girls led by the awesome play of Deanna Glade, Kathleen Madden, Alyssa Lonnborg, Briana Warner, Gabrielle Fallon, Stephanie Malone, Julia Rocco, Nicloe Ellis and Allsion Zeller will attempt to make it to Diocesan finals for the first time as they take on the champs from the Flushing Division.

This team has come a long way and has really been the talk of Broad Channel lately. After a strong finish last year the girls have practiced really hard and have finally achieved their dream of being a championship team. Broad Channel known as a football town can now claim fame to girls basketball as this team marches on to the Diocesan championship.
