SPECIAL OLYMPICS 2002 FUNDRAISER
The Kerry Hills Pub sponsored a hugely successful fundraiser to help send the St. Camillus Special Olympics Team to Ireland in the summer of 2002.  Over 220 people jammed into the cozy environment of the pub to watch the Giants demolish Minnesota and to enjoy the various festivities. Many of the Special Olympics' athletes, their families, their volunteer coaches, their friends, the Kerry Hills' regular patrons and countless "just plain, nice, generous people" from throughout the peninsula danced to the tunes of Patrick Tubridy.  They ate trays of shepherd's pie and ziti that were prepared by Carmel O'Sullivan, Billy Whelan and Robin and Louie Macardo and they enjoyed the generous hospitality of the Kerry Hills' owners, Jimmy and Carmel O'Sullivan who donated four hours at their pub for all the contributors.  Jimmy and Carmel approached Noelle Hutton to offer their pub at no cost for this fundraiser.  Noelle, whose daughter, Emily, is in the St. Camillus program, eagerly accepted and made al the arrangements with advertisements, tickets, raffles, and food.
