Keep His Dream Alive

(Students of MS 198 wrote letters to Oprah to have a show concentrating on Stop The Violence. They are hoping Oprah will keep Tommy Johnson’s dream alive to buy a home for his family).

Dear Oprah;

Tommy "Kareem" Johnson was an amazing athlete as well as a student. I don’t know much about what happened in his tragedy, but I do know that he was trying to be a peacemaker and was killed for it. Oprah, I just want you to help keep Tommy’s dream by helping him get his family a house and to have a "Stop The Violence" show.

Dear Oprah;

There was a young teenager named Tommy Johnson who was shot and killed. He was a good kid who was about to graduate high school. A lot of colleges wanted him because of his good grades and his skill in football. His goal was to become a football player and his dream was to buy a house for his family, but before he could achieve these things he was killed. We have to try to stop the violence in this neighborhood so that this won’t happen to anybody else. Let’s stop the violence and have something good come out of Tommy’s death. Please help us.
