Waking From A Dream
I appreciate your January 13, 2001 tribute to the late Dr. Martin Luther King jr. Dr. King’s belief in our dual citizenry in both "time and eternity" (heaven and earth), as the article indicates, describes an old ancient philosophy that we are all one and same under God. Often times we tend to forget this due to our identification with our person. With all the different forms of matter around us some of us have developed a sense that we are different from each other, which has given a rise to fear, greed and self-preservation. But the scientific community has concluded that our bodies are composed of the same cosmic essence found throughout the universe. Therefore, if we were to assume that we were the person that we see in the mirror every day as oppose to being the entity focusing from within on the person, we see how much better off are we today in our relations? Dr. King clearly understood that the kingdom of heaven is within us (St. Luke 17:21). And that most of the evil in the world is the result of our ignorance that all things in creation came from the original "oweness of God." It is time that we come to realize this so that the full impact of King’s dream can become a reality.
